New Singer Auditions

Potential new singers must arrange a short, stress-free audition with our Artistic Director, Michael Cundari, prior to the beginning of regular rehearsals. To schedule an audition, please contact our Artistic Director.

Auditions by appointment with the Artistic Director will include the following:

• An interview to discuss prior singing and choral experience.

• Vocal exercises to warm up your voice and help identify timbre and range.

• Singing of a short prepared piece or passage (32 bars) from a song of your choice (please provide sheet music if accompaniment is needed). If song suggestions are needed, please contact our Artistic Director.

• The ability to identify and follow your part in a choral octavo.

• The ability to perform short melodic and rhythmic passages.

• Tonal memory (i.e., the ability to sing a phrase after hearing it played on the piano).

Returning Singer Voice Review

Returning singers for the Chorale's 2026/2027 Season will complete an informal audition / voice review to assess strengths, range, and timbre, and to help maintain vocal balance across sections as new members join.

Seating Assignments

All new and returning members will be given their seating assignment before the start of the season. Seating is decided by the Artistic Director in conversation with the section leaders.
